i work in an office where ms outlook & ms exchange are the norm and us mac guys/gals – not so much. well one thing that often bothers me is when i get an email and attached files are converted into winmail.dat file attachments. this actually pisses me off way more than it should – but i digress…
i found a mac osx app that’s open source that can resolve this issue and figured i would share it with all my mac friends…
tnefDD – its on sourceforge – so its a freebie! yay! i love freebies
here is a link: http://sourceforge.net/projects/tnefdd
1. download the app
2. drop the app in the applications folder
3. run the app [i invoke it with quicksilver]
4. then drop the winmail.dat file on the icon in your dock
a box will open and you can drag the original attachments out without any issue.
