PubCon 2008 Las Vegas

i currently am attending a trade show in las vegas called PubCon it is held by WebMasterWorld a large online community of web masters. this is the 5th or 6th PubCon i have attended and is by far the largest to date.

i have to say PubCon is an excellent event, however i noticed some issues that plague it...

1. they only bought 100 seats for web access. its great that a sponsor provided this service for the attendees, but when there are a 1000 or more attendees 100 really doesn't cut it. what is worse is that they didn't setup a separate acct for the presenters. so most of the presenters couldn't get online to show us anything. and this is a web conference. so hopefully next time they will pay for 6 additional seats one for each classroom with a different user/pass.

2. while the speakers are truly amazing and really know their shit, the av system blows or the speakers just do not speak directly into the mic, so its a little difficult to hear them very well. this has really been across the board with just about every session i have been to.

last night we attended a special event hosted by zappos shoes. the party was hosted at the hard rock casino in vegas at the Wasted Space bar. nice event...
