Montblanc White Forest Ink Review

Montblanc White Forest 2009 [full size photo] - As I mentioned before, not a huge fan of the scented inks out there. This one seems to work better that the Montblack Seasons Greetings 2007 Ink Review. This ink also is limited so when they run out its gone. As with the 2007 Seasons Greetings ink this ink bottle is not the standard one they sell most of their inks in. Its more like the shape of a miniature cauldron (30ml).

I inked this in a German Reform 1745 Piston filler fountain pen (great little inexpensive pen btw). The scent is kind of like a piny scent, but there is more too it. I really cant describe it. Its pretty strong in the ink well, but it fades really quickly. I cant even smell it when its in the pen or when I write with it. I would have rather they didn't even scent these inks, the color is fine by itself.

The ink flowed nice and wet via the Reform 1745, the ink produces a nice bit of shading, a tiny bit of show & bleed through on my test paper. I think this may be due in part to the flow. I also noticed a tiny bit of feathering in this Hammermill Laserprint. Even though the ink flows nice and wet, its fast to dry.

I really enjoy this Montblanc green ink, it's fun to play with and is pretty well behaved. As with most other scented inks -- be cautious with these, as I have heard they can clog the nibs.
